Chris and Rob had one chance to make it out alive, and that was someone who they haven't seen in 6 years, someone they never really liked. And his name, was Bruce Stark.
Rob, is Rob Dyrdek, an entrepreneur “rich guy” who owns part of DC, and all of Alien Workshop, both billion dollar Skateboard companies, who sells everything from shoes to shirts, and many skateboards. Chris, is his cousin, who now works in same building as Rob, running a few businesses from Young and Reckless, to owning part of a burrito company. And both of them, are trapped on top of a building, surrounded by a bunch of guys that really “don’t enjoy their company.” Why? The news says Rob and Chris did something wrong, and these men are undercover as police men, trying to bring the two of them in. The streets say Rob and Chris ripped those men off, and their about to get “the time for doin’ the crime,” but heres why they are really in this situation.
See, when Rob was just 16, he moved out to L.A, which at the time was where every young and aspiring skateboarder went to see if they could get sponsored by one of the big name companies. Along with many others, Rob had to come up with new and different ways to impress the companies owners. Sometimes, they would “borrow” ideas from other riders, changing them somewhat to make them their own, most of the time. Apparently, Rob didn’t change someone’s idea enough, to get away with it, and this “someone” found out about it. This someone, was Steve Berra. Rob and Steve had met in high school. Bruce was a good friend of Steve, and Steve had know Rob for a while. Steve made these two meet, and Rob and Bruce had hated each other from then on. But Chris, Chris was a different story. Rob had told Chris about Bruce after he met him. He told Chris about how selfish he was, how he wasted money on fancy gold items, and acted as if they were cheap as dirt. Even hearing this, Chris wanted to meet him anyway, knowing someone with that kind of money could come in handy.
Steve and Rob had never talked about him stealing Steve’s idea. Steve seemed like he wasn’t angry, and Rob didn’t want to bring it up, just in case he didn’t know about it. This idea, that Rob “Borrowed”, was something Rob calls The Fantasy Factory, which is a huge building where Rob and Chris run their businesses, and do a little Skateboarding when they get the chance. Steve, has something like this building, but his, is just where him and his “Crew” skate from time to time. These two buildings where right around the corner from each other, and the two of them would skate over to each other, to have a friendly competition, usually involving a lump sum of money. These competitions kept the two of them fresh, and rich. It wasn’t until 6 years ago, that Steve found out about the Factory, and from then on, Steve had started renovating. He tried to make the place bigger, fancier. When Rob got something for the factory, Steve would buy something that costed more. Steve felt cheated, and because of this, he practiced everyday, until 2002, when Steve and Rob faced off against each other. There was also many other famous skateboarders such as, Matt Beach. Steve never let the fact that he beat Rob in the competition go.
